She qualified 4th, after nearly being on the pole. Good to see a talented woman get a chance to drive at Indy, (even if it isn't a Champ Car). With David Letterman as team owner this should translate into big TV ratings for the Indy 500. It will be interesting to see what sponsors her car has on race day.
BTW since Mario will be there and Paul Page will be there maybe we'll see a plug for "Dust to Glory" at the Indy 500?

She got more freakin' press than a Guantanamo Koran. Letterman's been involved for a while now, and they won last year with Rice, who everybody wrote off. (Still no press, because he's vagless.) At the Long Beach Gran Prix a couple years ago she had a bet with Tommy Kendall about the Lights race she was in. On Sunday morning he had to make good on his wager: Kendall walked through the pit lane while Danika had him on a dog leash.
Many, many of us offered to take his place on the leash.
I really am impressed by her ability on the race track.. but her "acting" on television is horrible. I have to turn it off when she starts reading her lines. What is strange is when she's talking on the fly she's fine... give her something scripted and it's like watching paint dry while someone drags their nails along a chalkboard.

The thing is she doesn't wear makeup on the track. It's a credibility issue. She can't wear makeup, because the other racers wouldn't take her seriously. Sarah Fisher raced at Indy a couple years ago and the pre-race interviews included a shot where the cameraman did an extreme closeup of her face (for some sort of dramatic "look at her intensity" thing), and you could see every pore, every blemish. Racer or not, she's still a woman and that is probably the most embarassing moment of her life. Ask your girlfriend, sister, wife, or whatever how they would feel knowing the whole world just saw you like that.. They would probably need some sort of therapy.
In person she looked waaay pretty, athletic, and capable of kicking ***.
Not surprised that someone offered her a ring.
I recently read an article about a study that found that sex b4 any sort of physical endeavor increases the testoserone level in women. This had the effect of increasing their ability to perform. The opposite is true of men. I'm hoping that Danica's new hubby is going to need to call in reinforcements on occasion......
