    More Bronco stuff > EFI

I have a brand new stock "hot run" 351w in my 91 bronco with new stock injectors and it runs like a pig. I thought it would have run like a p-u but it doesn’t. Did Ford de-tune these things? The first half of the throttle is good to ok in acceleration and response but the last half is really disappointing. All it does is make noise. Its got a new exhaust too with high flow cats and a flow master and it did nothing. I was sure that it had to be the problem but it wasn’t.

Does any one know of a way to cheaply get some more power out of them? I am thinking of a chip or something.

    Josh

    Josh-

Give a call down to Danzio Engineering, in Elsinore. Chris Muzio might be able to help with some new ignition/ fuel maps.

When I was doing alot on the 302/351 stuff, we found cams woke up 302's big time. The E-303, and the X303 did good for us. BBK also has a ton of parts for those motors.

"hey ryno" do those cams you are talking about work with the stock type injection? i have a 94 f150 with a 302 and would like to get a little more out of it. as far as the 351 running like a pig. check fuel pump pressure under load to make sure you have what you need. i believe its like 45-50 psi if i remember right.that was for my 302 when i was shopping for my fuel pump. also did they give you the right injectors? also maybe the timings is off? some things to check

    Re: More Bronco stuff

Back in the early/mid 90's Ford Motorsport made them. Since they have been copied, and tweaked a little by aftermarket guys. If it's a daily driven vehicle, stay mild...if it's your racer, go to the "X" version. If I remember right, we went from a 19# injector to a 24 or 26. We f'd around with a couple of them, since a buddy in high school was a Ford nut.

We took his 302, bored it to 307, milled the head and intake .040", put in some rockers, and the x303 cam. Upper and Lower plenum, injectors, regulator. I can't remember what headers he got. We took it to Mech tech, had Jim tune it, and it ran like a raped ape on 91 pump gas.

Have you tried looking into BBK Throttle body and also Edlebrock intakes? Those are my next purchases after I install my JBA header I just got for my 302. goto www.fordfuelinjection.com ... he'll shed some light for you on the EFI.

    Re: More Bronco stuff

thanks for the info ryno!! i believe i saw those cams in the summit magazine. i was hoping to keep it semi smog legal so maybe i should stick to the e303 instead. i already have bigger injectors in it but stock intake plenums.
