Re: Machine shop in So Cal
dont know if u would be willing to do any relations with a shop in vegas, but HBR competition engines out here do incredible work.
HBR stands for Heads By Rick, he knows what he is doing when it comes to head work, and just about anything related to working with and machining engine parts. if interested PM me and ill get u the contact information.

Action Cylinder Heads out of East County San Diego. They are well established, professional, and have years of experiance.

Ken's in Ventura, Shaver in SFV, VHS used to be a top name in SFV - don't know about lately. There's more that I'm currently drawing a blank on. Can ask if need be.

Valley Head Service still does good work.
Dougan's Machine in Riverside, Ca. does the machine work for Leon Patton. It seems that the offroad community likes Leon's engines. The owner Ray knows what can/ should be done to most pushrod engines. He has a crew of guys that care about what they are producing. Ph# (951) 681-1961. They're open to walk-in's.
