Pay Pal Scam
Just a heads up guys.... I got a e-mail today that looked like it was from paypal that wanted me to verify my information..... it had links to pages that looked just like paypal..... but it wasn't a pay pal site..... so I had to cancel my credit card and change my account information because I didn't catch it in time.... beware!

Re: Pay Pal Scam
ya.... I'm usually really cautious of stuff like this.... but this one got me..... right after I clicked the info in.... I figured it out what was going on. But they didn't have a chance to use my info.... before I canceled it.
They didn't say they were going to suspend my account. They said that a new e-mail address, which they provided, was just added to my paypal account.... and then there was a link for you to click if you didn't approve that e-mail address change.... I fell right in the trap.
BTW.... I got a similar e-mail again this morning. WAJ!

Re: Pay Pal Scam
You lazy dudes need to stop sitting at your desks typing and go watch some TV.
Every channel has done a news story on this, its called phishing, be wary either way, but if it doesn't specifically say your name the E-Mail asking for info is always going to be bogus.

I got something very similar where they used Ebay instead here at work, I knew right away it was a scam because I use a different account on my ebay login plus I NEVER use my work email address for registering anywhere.

Re: Pay Pal Scam
Has anybody got an e-mail from paypal saying that a credit card had been removed from your account because it had expired?? Then asked to add a new credit card, if the card that was expired was the only on on the account. The last four numbers on the card they supplied doesnt match any of my current credit cards, but it could be an old one i cancelled a year ago. The e-mail doesn't have any of paypal's graphics on it just, just text and links. I refuse to be taken.........

Re: Pay Pal Scam
If you think the info in the e-mail may be legit, just go to PayPal directly (not the link in the E-Mail). Thats what I did when I got my first suspicious e-mail.

Re: Pay Pal Scam
That's exactly what Paypal recommends you do. If they want to tell you something or need something it will be there.
And if you think the info in the e-mail may be bogus, just forward it to [email protected] or [email protected] and they will check it for you. You will get an instant auto response and after a few minutes to an hour or so they will tell you if it came from them or not.
