Help!!! I need opinions about my wedding

I am hoping I can get some good ideas from people… I am getting married next year. As you will see as you read farther it is a VERY non-traditional wedding. Very laid back. It will either be in Feburary, March or May… I let my fiancé choose the honeymoon (BIG MISTAKE, LOL J/K). He wants to spend a week in the desert. I am up for spending a week in the desert but I am looking for a date when there seems to be quite a few people out in the desert. I think I will get bored if there arent other people to laugh at besides my self... LOL... I originally was going to get married November 19, 2005 in Vegas, and go to Glamis for our honeymoon, but because of his truck not going to be done ( or so we thought), I post-poned the date. I am looking into getting married in a desert, party in a desert and stay about 1 week in a desert (obviously we arent traditional) LOL. Does anyone have any ideas on when the good weekends are in the beginning of the year… January and April are out I cannot do those Months. I know earlier I said May but preferably would like it sooner. Memorial Day is too far away I think… I guess my questions are:

1. What is a “more” busy weekend to go out to the desert in or March?
2. What desert would be the best?
3. What is your opinion?

I just wanted to hear some opinions from "desert people". If anyone has any opinions please let me know…

I like my soon to be husband... I just dont know what to do for a week in the desert by ourselves... We both like the desert and all but imagine going out to the desert with your wife/gf/or whatever for 1 week by yourselves. There is only so much to talk about... and do... I just wanted ideas for a fun week... I can not go in April due to the fact that it is quarter end and tax season... My job would probobly fire me if i left for 2 weeks in April. I also just wanted ideas... and thoughts...

why does it have to be for a week? why not a few days and then do something else for the other days. i know what you are saying, totally.......my post was kind of a joke. we havnt done it for a while but back before my son was born my wife and i used to go out to the dez all the time, just the two of us for a weekend or a few days. i would allways try to find the most desolate place where we would hopefully see NOBODY for the entire time. i know the party atmosphere is cool and all but so is total peace and quiet and freedom to do whatever(use your imagination) you want and whenever you want to do it while you are out there. of course we would bring the dirt bikes and or my truck to play durring the days and we would go on great rides and what not. but its also great to take a nap under the ez-up at 2 in the afternoon in total quiet.

so if you are group partiers, then go do that but if its a "honeymoon".......my opinion is that you guys should be alone.......so maybe just make the alone part for half of the time and go to the river and party the other half like stroppe suggested.

get married in may and go to Crandon and see the other side of off-road. the road trip would take couple days each way and the race weekend is a party off the hook. would be a great trip and could turn into tradition.

I think you are right it is a honeymoon and we do like to be alone but like i said in my original post he got to pick the honeymoon he picked one week in the desert... I didnt mean it had to be 1 week of partying all the time... I just wanted a bigger weekend in the desert where there would be a few people in the desert for the weekend then a few days of "alone time". I do understand what you are saying though... I love going to desolate places in the desert but at times i can get bored... a bored mind is the devils playground... LOL... It also isnt that we are "group partiers". I just didnt want like 9 days alone in the desert... I dont think we will make it out there by ourselves the whole week any way because his truck will probobly break and he will want to go home. Does that make any sense?
