    Trailing Arms

Are 53" Trailing arms long enough to get 30 to 35 inches of travel?
If not how long do they need to be to get 30" to 35" of travel?

Also where on the trailing arm is the best place to mount the shock for the best perfomance of the shock? I've seen many examples and want to use the best one.

"Best performance" is on the housing, but won't give you that travel. Just think about the arm as a multiplyer, if you put it in the middle of the arm 1/2. You get twice the travle but half the efficancy. So as long as you are using a shock you can vavle up then I would go about 1/3 up and take some of the strees off the frame mount and the arm.
