Tool Supply in Phx?
I tried searching but couldn't find the info I needed, I was wondering what tool/machinery supply places are in the Phx area open to the general public? Something with better quality stuff than say Harbor Freight but lower budget than heavy duty production equipment. I am looking for a decent horizontal/vertical bandsaw for the home shop, I have found some decent quality ones online for around 2-350 but of course there will be an extra 150 or so in shipping. I figure I could pick up a better saw for the same price or the same quality one for less if there is a local place. Thanks for the info anyone..

They are only open to businesses from what I understand and after checking their website I can only find saws in the $1000 range. I found a Delta horizontal for 330 but can't find a local dealer... they seem to only carry their 14" wood vertical bandsaw. Hmmm....

check the classifieds. it sems like once a month or so a decently equipped machine shop is closing down and auctioning off the equip. one of the machinist i work with bout a lathe for 3500, and then had it appraised later for 8000. plus they are local so shipping can be done by you and your buds.

Re: Tool Supply in Phx?
Found out Lowe's can special order any Delta product made, even if they don't show it for sale online or in store. Getting the $400 Delta 4x6 horizontal bandsaw that will flip to vertical and also has the worktable for vertical cutting as well. Should be enough for what I need. Thanks for the insight everyone.

Brian,
Check out Moore Tool and Equipment on Thomas and 31th ave, 602-455-8904, 3102 W Thomas Rd. They have used and new Mills, lathes, sanders sheet metal equipment and and tooling. They sell New JET equipment and can order it for you. That is where I got my used lathe. Other than that I have had decent luck on ebay looking for stuff around Arizona and Sothern Califorina. I know of a used horizontil saw like mine that you might be able to buy. I will let you know.

I don't know about a wedding, but I was overseas for 2 weeks. Otherwise I would have posted earlier. This was the 1st Expo I missed.
