Hewland Trans question
I just took on a project that has a Hewland DG300 trans. I'm looking for a competent local trans guy with Hewland experience, any ideas? I'm in the Pasadena CA area. THANKS!!!

Re: Hewland Trans question
I would try Jeff Fields up in Chastworth, he does bus boxes along with Fortins, Hewlands etc. He knows his stuff and has maintained our Fortin for the last 4 years. He should be able to figure it out for you along with providing great service.

Re: Hewland Trans question
I believe Fortin based their tranny design off of the DG300. I would start there

Re: Hewland Trans question
Although he is not local, give Kevin McMullen in Phoenix, AZ a ring. He builds, services and maintains Fortins, Hewlands, Mendeola's, and Albins transaxles as well as VW Bus boxes as well. The Hewland can be a real bear when it comes to locating parts and I know that Kevin has a few complete DG300 and FGA's around his shop.
Here is his contact information:
