This is probably a good subject for a new post....
How do we go about getting clarifications/changes done? I don't know much about the history of the classes and how changes have happened to have an idea of what has been done.

Ramsey, The PIN truck is also illegal due to it's wheelbase and a few other things.
By tubbed he means channeled, or Body dropped as they say nowadays. Sinking the body over the frame,(or raising the frame up into the Body/chassis).
Not to derail my own thread, but do you guys weld shut the big holes in the frame rails?

Ok i see what you guys are saying about it being "tubbed" or body dropped. but how does this make it illegal? I see on the new geiser built 8 truck that the seats are pretty much sitting on top of the frame rails just like the foutz built 7 truck that swift drives/owns but there is nothing in the rule book that makes this illegal in both classes.Originally Posted by WoodyW

read the rules and it says that the body lines must remain in original location vertiacly and horizontaly. So if you drop the body down in the frame rails then its not in the stock location. Look at the Colins old class 8 and that is a perfect example of a legal class 8 as far as i am concernd.
These new class 8 are basicly trophy trucks with frame rails bolted on to them.

Well that truck might not be legal. And I bet that the owner is going to be pissed when he gets DQ for it if its not legal.
My truck had a cab on it so the seats are in the stock location and there about 6" higher, thus making the truck stand higher. This the exact thing Ramsey was talking about and I dont why a person/owner and shop would sink so much money into a truck that will be DQed when it wins its first big race.
BTW thanks for the pick. I wont forget it.

That TT with a couple frame rails stuffed in it shouldn't be allowed to race in class 8, that is if they uphold the rules.
Let them race and protest if they win? I guess you'd have to protest if they get points in front of you too.
Seems like class 8 has relatively few rules and they have to be held sacred.
Maybe some of these guys have talked to Savage and got an OK on it?

It's the same thing with 7 Open. Look at Larry Roseler's new 7 truck, seats are ontop of the frame rails as well. Also a picture of another 7 Open truck just recently built. Look at the difference in frames from the cockpit rearward.
