Looking for an odd Saginaw box...
Anyone know the aplication for the following steering box?
I was told it came in a GM vehicle.
Forward facing pitman arm.
Inside frame rail mount.
Set-up for power steering.
Thanks for your help,

Older Gm Fullsize trucks and vans.
Any particular reason why you want the inside the frame as oppssed to outside the frame.
Sorry I dont have any clue on the years or models. of vehicles

There is a three mounting bolt and a four mounting bolt version. Get the four. Check mid 70's to mid 80's 3/4 ton and 1 ton 2wd trucks, Suburban. Not hard to find at Ecology or Pick Your Parts.

standard 68-87 GM truck boxes are outside the frame and the pitman arm points back. I think a van box is what you might need.

Maybe you need some more sleep Ramsey? I know this whole Dakar thing has me a little blurry too!
On the boxes, fullsize jeep boxes are inside the frame and I think they're the 4 bolt design but they're built with the pitman arm pointing back but I think the van boxes are the same casing with reverse rotation guts. I know some dodge truck boxes have reverse guts but are outside the frame cases. They might be handy if you have to mix and match parts.

In lighter duty stuff the first generation F cars and X cars (Novas) had rear steer, inside the frame boxes with fwd facing pitmans.

Thanks to all, I'll look into the van steering boxes, any special model or year?
