    Who turned the lights out?

During the Laughlin race it was disheartening to see so many race cars, most notably in Class 1’s and Trophy Trucks racing with no or less than adequate amber dust lights. Several cars (top teams) didn’t have theirs’ on and many had them buried in bodywork and cowlings that made them hidden and not visible unless you had a direct line of sight to the light. Many others were very dim, including LED’s, and not visible through the dust. This is not just a safety issue, but an unfair advantage. I have a feeling that SCORE officials are concerned with this and race cars will be checked more carefully at San Felipe and pulled from the course if not compliant during the race.

I also noticed a few TT's that only had dust lights on when the brakes were applied, which made no sense to me unless it was a default on at least a handful.

I think the most rediculous thing is when vehicles are using a 2' or 2.5'' round clearance LED light as their amber, it's nowhere near adequate enough IMO.

I have always been a fan of a big bright dust light. I try not to let them, catch me in the first place. Let them have the dust light to help get around me. If someone can pass me blinded by dust only seeing my dust light while I have clean air, then I say let them, they are obviously a better driver than me.

Isin't there a thread on this somewhere else on the site?
Not Laughlin specifically. Maybe it is over on DR.
