    Race Radios

Any recommendations on racing radios? Ideally i want one that will fit inside my helmet like most bike riders wear. (talk to activate) I'd like to be able to talk to have a conversation with my co-pilot as we go along and be able to push a button to talk to base. Is there anything like this out there? Or do i need to helmet radios? And where do i get them.

Most, use the hand helds. There are a few who have had a base unit put on their bike. I am not sure how good those work. Feedback issues etc!!!! PCIScott would probably have that answer. I have always wanted to put one on our bike.

    Re: Race Radios

You are in a car, with a co-driver, want to talk to the co-driver and push a button to talk to base.

You need a mike and earphones in your helmets.

A radio in you car to talk to base and an

intercom to talk to your co-driver.

PCI is good, also look at the communicaiton "Linkz" on race dezert.

You need to understand what you are getting and how to use it. Ask if they are buzy, if so, ask them to call you back when they have time.

Test it before driving to the desert, while you can still easily get in touch with whoever you bought it from.

If you race, find out who goes to the race series you are running. If you are in a group you may need to know the frequencies of your buddies, this has an influence on your antenna length. (Frequencies are usually set by the radio shop to your order)

If I ever get the time, I'd like to write a book on building a race car.

Doug @ www.helmetkits.com has a nice PTT button holder on there set up and the radios are submersible in case you crash in the water...

Gad, I hate those Flash driven pages. Would be nice if they had an html page so I could look for what I'm trying to find.
