New BITD 7200 rules
I thought BITD was building a new, but separate, class when talking another "unlimited mini truck" class. Upon looking at the 2006 rules, 7200 is just being modified into the new rules in 2007.
-No frame needed,
-85" width,
-any number of seats,
-any engine location, just as long as it's a v6.
Does anybody see any other sanctioning bodies following suit.. even if not right away? An open 7 truck built to those specs would be a strictly BITD class... unless you run trophy truck or sportsman.

Re: New BITD 7200 rules
there is a thread about this on Dezert rangers, tho there are sum opinions that i would say arent valid, there are many that are. Dan Vance has sum awesome points, and same with Desert Lab.
http://dezertrangers.com/cgi-bin/ib/...1;t=32793;st=0
please read that and see wat you think, coming from a prerunner community, that wants to embrace the class but cant see potential, and only see it hurting the other classes. please check it out and either post on there, or on here.
When a man knows how to live dangerously, he is not afraid to die. When he is not afraid to die, he is, strangely, free to live.
With that mentality though, I guess we could also make 2 TT classes for those guys that just can't keep up with the faster TTs. Oh wait.... This is racing. - Dan Vance

Re: New BITD 7200 rules
Just read that entire thread on DR... wow, what a beating, lol.
I hate the split up between 7s and 7sx... but in this case, BITD isn't splitting it up, they're changing an existing class... so that it is illegal in any other sanctioning body.. besides the obvious class alternatives.
I like the relaxed rules, but only being able to race competitively in BTID(if the class catches on) adds a different kind of restriction. Unless other the other series accomodate it... I don't see that as being realistic, seeing how a lot of open 7s will sunddenly be outdated on paper, or there will be 5 mini truck classes in SCORE.

Re: New BITD 7200 rules
So this would mean that their was no class for the stock frame unlimited suspension trucks? That doesn't seem right.

Re: New BITD 7200 rules
IMO, This is a huge opportunity for the 10 guys to have a very fast Truck. It would be no problem to use a twin cam 375-500+ hp Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Chevy/Ford six, Add a 500.00 body and wham, bam WAY better sponsors!
I hope SCORE follows.
I'm not a "Real Racer". So as a fan, Trucks are better, Better for TV; Better for me.

I don't know, but their's at least one. Replacing a class where even one person has a fair and competitive vehicle that they spent their hard earned money and time on with a class that people are predicting will be dominated by buggies raping the rules just isn't cool. I think a Mini TT class sounds like a good idea, the people who like minis would then have a class to work up to, like the full size guys do: stock, unlimited stock, unlimited. And don't say theirs already too many classes, beetles have three, fullsizes have three, why not minis?
