Re: superchargers
I have had two small block Chevy's with blowers in my tow rig over the years. The first was a stock short block with about 5 lbs of boost but would show 7 psi on the guage on the top end because of head flow capacity and another small block with a better cam and heads and TRW blower pistons that made around 10 lbs. Both ran very good and make for effortless towing but you must run the best premium fuel out there. The built motor would pull great to 6000 where as the stock motor was all done at 4500. You could actually shift at around 3000 RPM with a full manuel automatic on the stock short block and run almost the same 0-60 MPH times showing you that the supercharger makes great torque and HP at low RPM. With the cost of gas these days I would prefer to build a fuel injected big block that would run ping free on regular fuel but thats just me.

Re: superchargers
I had a Vortech blower on my 03 5.3 sierra. It really didnt have alot down low. But up top it would leave a little rubber on the asphalt once it started boosting. Worked great towing. When it had a load on it it seemed like it would start boosting a little earlier in the rpm range. Just took it off. If anyone wants a blower pm me.
