Not to high jack this thread, but I just heard from my sources that RG was able to patch up his Red Bull deal for the off-road program. While it's still shaky, don't be surprised if you see two RB trucks at the 1000, not one of which will be the Dakar truck.

Robby at Daytona
Excellent news! What's a race without some RB and RG?
and actually jrsyko, you incorporated the Red Bull drama with nascar into RG's off road...........why are they not sticking with what has been successful to them? May be a silly question but I'm just sayin'.............
and all events rained out yesterday so don't expect qualifying today until very late.

RB is teamed up with Toyota and RG is joined with GM so that's why that can't sponsor his Nascar effort.

Yes, I can't wait till October when the "Master Plan" becomes clear.
I wonder how tight the Red Bull Volkswagon deal is today?

Just finished watching qualifying at Daytona, just missed it so now has to race his way in...the wind seemed to be a huge factor in times, apparantly it was really blowing when RG made his qualifying run

Yeah, I watched it too...was only a couple hundreths of a second off from qualifying on time....his time was 23rd too...right in the middle of the pack...really a shame if he doesn't make it...but he did race his way in last year...anyone know what position or higher he needs to place at during Thursdays (?) Bud 125's in order to get in?

Oooo....was just announced that Jimmy Johnson and Terry Labonte's qualifying times have been thrown out due to them failing inspection after they finished up...Johnson finished ahead of Robby and Terry behind during qualifying...Anyone know if this would bump Robby in??

Robbie did not race his way in last year he was passed on the last lap of the 150 and sat out the race. What happened today after qualifying does change what he needs to do and that is to finish 1st or 2nd against all other non-qualified cars in his 150 not against the entire field. Robby will start outside row 5 in the 2nd race on Thursday.
My wife bought us a weeks pass for this years Daytona as a wedding present (we got married in may) I've never been and am looking forward to it I've gone to Sonoma a dozen times for NASCAR. Thursday is the 150's, Friday the truck race, Saturday the Busch event and Sunday the big one. I should be pretty burned out on NASCAR by the time we rerun home.

that really sucks...as it stands right now he had the 22nd fastest time out of the 58 drivers who ran in qualifying yesterday---and he's still not in at this point...looks like he start in 10th position in the 2nd of the Gatorade races on Thursday...hope he does well...would really be a downer for him I would imagine if his Nascar program doesn't even get into the biggest race of the year....
