gears, 1st gear, , etc. = cambios, 1er cambio o primera (first)
chasers = Seguidores
They "chased" me down the peninsula... = Ellos me siguieron por la peninsula
el verbo "to pit": They "pitted" for us... = ellos nos abastecieron (gas, tires etc)
shortcut = atajo
boulders = bordo
gravel = grava (not shure)
silt (polvo?) vs silt bed (talcos) Polvo = dust
goat trail = goat trail
streams = not shure

Primer cabio, segundo, tercero, quarto. le cambie a primera (a segunda)
silt and silt bed is "talcos" in spanish

GEAR : Marcha, velocidad , engranaje .
1st gear : primera ( primera velocidad )
chasers : perseguidores ( el que sigue a alguien )
shortcut ; atajo
boulder : roca redondeada
gravel :grava , gravilla
goat trail : vereda de cabras ( camino dificil ? )
streams : arroyo , riachuelo .
