We had Garage & Pit passes for last week. It gave us full access except during hot zone periods (about an hour before and during the races) it was the only way to go especially the morning of the 500. My wife has a friend whose wife is involved with one of the primary sponsors of the series. Left to my own devices I would have never got them, they are not for sale and you have to present I.D. constantly while back there.
I guess it just come down to a connection I'd offer mine but I've used it up for this year. Good Luck.

Right now, (Pre-Tony Stewart fan beating) It is next to impossiable to get a "Garage pass" you can buy pit passes for about 50 bucks (had some last year at Cal). You are limited to pit road basically until before the start of the race. Then you are booted out.
These days inorder to get Garage passes there is really only a few ways and all the ways pretty much require you to have a very good reason.
1. Teams have a very limited amout of family and friends "Extra Garage Passes" You would have to get these directly from a team.
2. If you are an official parts supplier to the teams. You (your company) would have to pay $1200.00 for NASCAR membership and you get an official suppler card (with photo) and that will get you in the garage but not in the stands.
3. Be related to a NASCAR official and get a one time guest pass.
4. "Official Press"
5. Get a job at California speedway. (LOL)
THANKS TONY STEWART!

Daytona has really stepped up their Fan Garage passes, they have a cool viewing area for the fans with windows on the back side of the garage walls with like a walk up window for getting autographs. Kind of like a check cashing window.
They don't have a set up like this at any other track yet. They should, it seems the fans really like it.

California Speedway is going to be making some big changes after this weekends race. In May the California Dragstrip will be open. I think it will be in the infield area. Also they are doubling the midway area. They are suppose to be starting the week after the race and it will be done before the Labor Day race. Here is the link to the speedway news letter about the renovations. http://www.californiaspeedway.com/ne...sp?news_id=483 Also I guess they are changing the logo for the track. Which is kind of strange because they just change it when Penske sold it to ISC a few years ago.

It's out front from what I can tell. The area between the (current) drag strip ( in the front parking lot) and what is the current handycapped parking lot.

Robby will be driving the black and yellow colors this weekend with Menards as the primary sponsor. This weekend should be a good battle between the home improvment stores 7, 20 & 48. Also has anyone else heard what the Beer wagons want to do. Miller Beer was trying to bet Budwieser! Miller wants to bet Bud the the #2 with Bush will finish higher in points then the # 8 with Jr. If Bush finishes higher in points then the 8 team must paint there car in Miller colors for one points paying race in 2007, and if Jr finishes higher then the 2 team must paint there car in Bud colors for one points paying race in 2007. I have not heard if Budwieser has taken the bet or not. This was on Jayski before the Daytona 500.

Bud Pussed out.
Could you imagine what a Dale Jr. Miller 1/24 car would fetch? Or a Kurt Busch Bud car would get from the Jr. fans.

Well; I'm heading to Fontana tonight. We have 3 spots in the infield. Trucks on Friday, Busch on Saturday and Cup on Sunday. If any RCD'ers are going to be there stop by and say hi! Our camps are on the back stretch by the track access gate. You cant miss it with the large #7 sign that,s lit up at night and the Menards and Jim Beam banners around the camp.

My roommates are heading out tonite also. I'd say look for the rednecks in an old Chevy RV but it'd be like finding a needle in a haystack.
