Fabricated lower link arms, how thick of material?

I build mostly rockcrawler stuff and we use tube only, but I've been wanting to build some lower fabricated arms. So how thick of material are you guys using for the sides? I'm thinking of using a piece of 1 1/2" .188 lower tube, and a 1" .120 wall upper tube and connecting them with some plate. I don't think the sides will be more than 2" tall and it would have a bridge design to it. My rear shocks connect to the link, but right at the base where it attaches to the axle.

Seems most box with 1/8" mild-steel, if they're not going for the 4130..

I play on the rocks, too, but racing is more fun.

I've got some .080 Chromo so I guess that should work fine. I'm thinking I'll holesaw and dimple die it with some 1" and 3/4" dimples. thanks
