Toyota 4x hubs?
I have a 92 4x with manuel hubs and looking at a 93 4 runner with auto hubs. Would like to transfer the manuel to the 4 runner. Whats involved? Are they interchangable? Just a hub/drive plate swap or is it the whole spindle? Thanks.

Re: Toyota 4x hubs?
Like the article in that link says, the 93 most likely has ADD (automatic differential disconnect), and not "auto hubs". Switching from ADD to manual hubs is relatively cheap and easy, unlike the difficult and very expensive swap on ADD-equipped 95.5 and newer Tacomas. In fact, I swapped manual hubs on an ADD-equipped 92 4Runner I used to have years ago. So yeah, the manual hubs on the 92 should easily swap onto the 93. The hardest part of the whole process is dealing with the cone washers. Hope this helps.

Cone washers. Brass drift pin against the end of the nutless stud. Hit it with a hammer. Not hard, but not soft. Might take a couple whacks.
