This is only my opinion, but the fastest driver in the desert is someone who hasent had things fall his way. Not yet. But just wait, his name will be at the top of the stack pretty soon.. Kevin James.......I get a kick of seeing all the FAD drivers get all the attention. But they come and go... Robby has always been my favorite. Rob Mac Is the best on 4 Wheels. Larry Roeseler is the Best desert racer of our time. Oh and Larry Ragland is the best LONG course racer

Lets be a little more locigal about this. Each drivers rig is different.
So... lets say they are all in the BC challenge carsracing in the baja mil. Each car is identical. Now who is the fastest?????

My vote is for RG or Rob Mac. or Shephard or Phleuger or Hovey. Top 10 they would all be in there.

Scooby Do....bro..we have talked before, but "clowns?" Dude, look at his early days of offroad racing...I don't have details...but he blazed in late '80s / '90's. some of the hardest core vet's will tell you, RG was a young kid, came along and whooped our buts (I am talking professional level dez racers).

Try this test....go to any race...find a good section of the course...stand right there...and let all the TT's pass....and then you tell me RG's reputation is because of a PR guy!

Lightning's first SCORE win was in 1981. His last was at the 2005 Primm race. 24 years of competition and still running fast.

Very new to the sport, but.... stood at the turn by the alternate pit at midway(Parker 425 2006) and watched first 20-25 cars come thru. John Herder first thru, was fast and smooth, ROBBY GORDON came thru and did not let off of the gas, railed thru the corner....ssemed to carry much more speed thru the corner.
