Not any real problems. Just gutless.Great mileage but a 350 will probably out pull it.
Would be great if you dont need to pull anything heavy.
Ive had several of them as well as the newer 6.5 ( these are the ones with problems)
and they all ran great but just kinda low on power.
When empty my old 6.2 would top 20 on freeway, But this was without any overdrive(My current truck has a gearvendor on it as well as reg overdrive) 25 might be possible empty at 60-65 mph. A suburban has got to be more weight though.
Even my current truck (98 6.5 dually) has gotten 21 empty
When towing 10-14 is the norm
Where youre located the price might be normal but if you dont mind a road trip get on the internet. I bought my 98 3500 ex-cab dually 4x4 for a little less than the one youre lookin at. At least up here everyone wants a powerstroke, cummins or d-max.
Alot of people are scared of the older chev oil burners and the dealers have to almost give them away or theyll just sit on the lot. Compared to all the new trucks the 6.2 and 6.5's just dont have the hp and tq #'s but mine gets the job done at least for me (28' enclosed trailer with living quarters built in - 11200 lbs loaded) will roll down the interstate with the cruise set at 70 mph ac blowin cold and the radio cranked.
