5-1600 bug breaking torsion adjusters
ive had the front torsion adjusters ( the one that holds on to the torsion leafs, not the adjuster one) on my 5-1600 bug, break off clean 3 times, what could be wrong with this setup ?? Never happend on my prerruner...
any help would be apreciatted...

Do you have a second bolt threading in from the backside, locking the center block towards the bolt/stud that breaks? Its a little harder to add one on a 5/1600 cause of the panhead, but it's necessary to avoid the failure your talking about.

Another option if you can't put in a lock bolt is to go up to a 5/8" set screw. It's kind of a pain but a 5/8 nf bolt is quite a bit stronger.

I've had the same problem. I think it was due to cheap hardware, even though they were from SAW. I fixed the problem by making my own set screws out of grade 8 bolts, 7/16". Its an odd size, but the local nut & bolt shop should stock them. 3/8" too small, 1/2" too large.
Anyway, problem solved.

they were grade 9......But i think i do have to put a second bolt in it through the rear... i thing theres a set of torsion adjusters with a thicker scew...
