A New Type of Off-road Racing

Bear with me as this is a little different, but the subtitle for the forum says "Everything off-road race related"

A national series called XRRA Rock Racing - Last weekends event in Colorado Springs, CO was a relativly fast track with only a little rock. We raced our Ranger designed for rockcrawling and beat out a field of 28 for a win!

There was a double jump that we came up short on. We dang near endoed and it was the hardest hit I have ever taken in the truck. I can better appreciate some of the crash photos on this site after that. Some pictures of our Ranger from the event, let me know if the links don't work.

I love the idea kind of like hill climb in reverse.

Shoot...I meant to head down there, totally forgot. Nice photos! I guess my next race will be Pikes to see the Pro Trucks.

They showed a clip on Sunday's HP TV on Spike. Cool footage and very exciting to watch.
Make your $$ count, race a limited class, it last longer.

We run a fuel injected 302 that is pretty mild in comparison to the standard here. The truck weighs about 3000#. To much horsepower in crawling often leads to broken parts. Front or rear mounted LS1's seem to be the engine of choice for other racers.

I think the footage on Spike was from Colorado Springs last year, the course was changed up this year. Dirtsports should have a good write-up on this years event.

Pedal on the right? All we have is a brake pedal and a break pedal!

I recall someone posting a video of one of these events not too long ago.
