Engine Rebuilt Question
I have an older 350 going into a 5 seater project truggy, 35in tires, my question is what are my options to get the horsepower that I need to push this truggy? Also wondering if a 350 tranny, turbo 400 would be good enough ??? Really need your input. Thanks.

Re: Engine Rebuilt Question
Don't build the motor until the truggy is complete.
When the truggy is complete and ready to roll put in a stock motor and drive it like that until you get the hang of it.
You will be suprised how much trouble you can get into even with a stock 350.

Re: Engine Rebuilt Question
Ok for a 515 hp 350, here is my recipe. Demon 850 carb. Victor Jr intake, Dart 215cc small chamber Iron Eagle heads, Comp 292s, Probe 3.5cc domed pistons making 13.0:1 and bone-stock bottom end. It need the high octane to prevent predetonation. Have everything balanced and pistons ground for valve clearence OF COURSE. A good set of headers and MSD ign. system. 515 hp @6,800 rpm, and 457 lb-ft @ 5,200 . pm me for part #, vendors and more on machine work info. Oh yea... have a Turbo 400 sent over to Culhane and let him know what you are doing with it and he will make it bullet proof.
Have fun.

Re: Engine Rebuilt Question
stock bottem end?? why not go with a stroker kit??? run 10.5:1 com for pump gas and get a good 450 hp and more than enough torque for any play truggy will need.
Raceco Class 12 for sale pm or email for more details ready to test drive

Re: Engine Rebuilt Question
383 Stroker crank with the same heads and a Comp 306s solid flat-tappet cam with 260/260 at 0.050 and forged Keith Black flat-tops set at zero deck (with lots of hand work) will give you 12.0:1 comp. still needing high test fuel. Furthermore will increase the HP to 530 @6,600 rpm and 497 lb-ft at 4,900 rpm. It realy depends how many horses he wants. $:HP ratio he wants to spend.

Re: Engine Rebuilt Question
If I had twenty k to put into a truggy motor; I would test the truck with the stock 350 and the put in a Ls1. Both engines will work the th400 trans.
