Best races to go to?
Recently I was reserving rooms for the Primm race this September. Half of my Volunteer pit crew told me they didn't want to go to Primm. They said it wasn't any fun last year. Granted we DNF'ed, but they said the spectaing sucked, and the whole experience was lame.
For me personally, I always thought Primm was one of the best specating races of the year. Watching the lead trucks thru Pit B is awesome! Anyway it started me thinking, What are the best spectating "Desert" races of the Year? Your Thoughts.

Re: Best races to go to?
Primm was always a great race to spectate. We raced class 12 last year and all my family was bored to death at main pit due to the relocation to the dry lake bed. It was a dust bowl and there was a speed limit through main so nobody got to enjoy TT and class ones getting it on!

Primm is awesome due to the gambling and booze with hundreds of friends...it just happens that a race takes place. Pit B is an awesome place to watch from...100mph thru huge whoops.
I picked san felipe as the best to go to though...tons of partying going on and on race day there are multiple awesome spots you can get to and watch the leaders.

Re: Best races to go to?
as far as spectating of course laughlin cuz of the multiple laps and close action, but i dont even count that as a desert race. primm absolutely sucked last yr for spectators. i watched the start from behind the line and went to the casino. so being from parker and knowing some good spots i would have to pick that if the blm allows you to go where you want .

San Felipe. Everything about the race equals a good time. It is short so the racing is very aggresive and tight. Nine times out of ten the weather is perfect. The pre-race activities are some of the best around, ex. contingency on the boardwalk. You can watch the race anywhere you want. I have never had a bad time at the San Felipe 250. It is definetly is going on the list of races that I want to compete in during my lifetime.

The best spectating race hands down is San Felipe. You're free to go wherever you want, You can prerun where/when you want, The best Contigency by far, Awesome weather, Camping by the beach, Great course, and the Nitelife.
Laughlin is only fun to watch because the number of laps. And only on the hill. The nitelife is great though.
Primm sucked last year. We raced in the morning, hung out at the Dust bowl (main pit) for a little bit to watch the TT's & Cl 1's, it got so bad we decided to leave, did'nt even stay around to watch everyone complete a lap. So we went back to shower, and then had fun celebrating our win in the Casino. Primm is Ok if you stay at Pit B or Pit C
The Baja 500 is up there with San Felipe. Only thing is it's a long day to specatate. depending on your class. Same goes for the 1000.

Well I think my favorite race in San Felipe becuse I always I like to film the race with my video camera and some other reasons like the sea , good girls
, the good sea food , and the most important the race and is a short course and you have teh opportunity to go to other places to see the same cars, the weather is perfect and the contingency wooww is one of my favorite parts

Exactly............How can you beat a Casino full of all your friends??
We have had some great times at the tables there............nothing beats a Blackjack table full of desert racers, placing bets on the Roulette Wheel next to them, all while heckeling the Pit Boss because the tree isnt accurate.................Good times, good times........
