CORVA Membership drive
This I know should be under "Save the Desert", but
if I can get a day or two of full exposure on RDC, myself and the CORVA staff
would greatly appreciate it.
I had the honor of attending the CORVA Board of Directors meeting at
CORVA President, Ed Waldhiem's house this past weekend here in California City.
I had a chance to see some great minds at work and learn many things.
Over the past few years, OHV use has seen a rapid explosion in popularity.
There are now over one million paid California Green Stickers out there.
Unfortunately, CORVA membership and donations have been on a steady decline.
CORVA has been involved with some pretty major battles with enviro
nuts over the years. Areas that directly affect the areas we have a right
to play in, along with areas we race in.
Other that the recent Johnson Valley hoax, things appear quiet on the battle
front, but this isn't the case. I could go on for hours detailing every land issue,
budget battle, lobby, closures, trail maintenance, education....and so on..
it would make your head spin! Even the CARB issue was brought up and this
is the type of thing the folks at CORVA will hit head on.
One recent town meeting, an extreme enviro group showed
up with the front part off a dirt bike splattered with fake blood & small dead
animals displayed around it. The lengths these people will go to is sickening
and full of propaganda.
We need to keep on top of things!
Think of it as a well organized race team. In order to win, you need to stay
ahead of the competition. All it takes man hours, money and great minds.
Right now our opponents have people in key places and believe me if
we don't keep them in check, we will lose the race!
All I am asking here is go over to the CORVA web site and join. It’s very simple,
CORVA now accepts Pay-Pal and it’s only $35.00 a year. Along with a membership
card and sticker, you will receive a monthly magazine that will inform you
what CORVA is doing with your money. You can even choose what issue your
donation can be directed.

N2DIRT is a newer program spun off of CORVA. There are great folks
with new ideas behind it promoting safety & education. Check it out!

Yes sir, We have members from many other states. Nevada in particular
has some new laws in the works we need to keep our eyes on. We also
have a lobbyist in Washington we are working with in conjunction with ORBA.
On another note, CORVA is working on a multiple use program designed
to network with other interests such as snow mobile's, mining, equestrian,
rock hounds and so on... combining and working with these varied interests
gives us more leverage when it comes down to planing, fighting and
managing our recreational resources.
