Prerunner class in Score races
In 2002 I raced my prerunner in the TT class at the Baja 1000. We started at the end of a 25 +or- truck field. We had failing brakes at SF when I got in, Craig Stewart drove the first part. About 30 miles into my section, which was to La Paz, I had virtually no brakes. I drove it to El Crucero that way. We were the 9th truck at that point. We DNF'd.
I want to race it again in '07 and hope it goes down the penninsula. I have looked at the Prerunner class and see several mini trucks and wondered if you guys would have a problem with my truck in the class. What does everyone think?

Regardless of what truck you want to race with, I think you should bring it out to test at the MDR Night Race on the 12th of next month...I just want to see your truck run...Period

No problem in my book. I might be driving a section at this year's 1000, and will be racing next year in our new truck.

Re: Prerunner class in Score races
I was thinking the same thing. I am racing 1500 at Primm and was hoping we could all get together to have a pro unlimited truck class instead of filling up the sportsman truck class. This class would kinda be a catch all instead of racing TT and getting in the way. Obviously the 1400/1450 trucks fit and there are way more trucks than in the Score pro classes. I like it, steel cab and doors and all else open. I would hope to start behind the 7 open and not at the back of the field.

RCing Mars,
There is some old photo's in skunks.
aiiracing,
Will be on vacation during that period... I will most likely do an event down the road, the truck needs a good prep and I am re-shocking it.
Trichards,
Maybe we are starting the movement...
We need to get a sponsor/s for the class to make the class as big as the TT class and put up some $$$$

Re shocking?? Are you ditching the Foxes or just going bigger. I love the Foxes on my truck, let me know when its done so we can go to plaster to test. We took mine out last Friday night. I thought I was going to be the only one there. NOT! McMillins, Jimco TT, and some 7 trucks were everywhere.

Re: Prerunner class in Score races
If you think it is fast enough to race trophy truck then enter it there not with a bunch of sportsmen. As far as Sal starting sportsmen up with 7 open trucks that would create a riot in the next classes. It is not any cooler to hold up a 5-1600 or stock full etc. than it is a trophy truck since you are only racing for bragging rights in one race of the year. Do you guys have pre runners for pre running for your pre run racers?

Ken... Ouch! I can drive it fast enough to stay up with the class, but it is still kind of like taking a knife to a gunfight.
I like you guy's, you show a lot of heart with your effort, but I do not have the passion to campaign a vehicle for a full season, been there done that. The Baja 1000 has a special place in my heart and I want to race the 40th anniversary the same year I turn 40. Barring any other race vehicle this truck fits here.
