06 Brake Failure......
Has anyone here herd of, or had any problems with the 06 Tundra and its brakes?
Last week i was leaving the dirt parking lot at my school, and to exit you have a make a swinging left hand turn to a little down hill. I was traveling no faster then 5mph when i went to press on the brakes they went to the floor, i quickly let off and tryed to pump them when the pedal started to pulsate with the ABS. my truck slid/coasted over 25ft to bounce over a boulder and right into the side of a ford taurus. So I was then stuck on the boulder and resting against this car, i had to put it in 4wd to get my self off. I left a note on the girls car i hit because i wasn't sure if anyone saw and i didn't want to be a dick and just leave, let alone if someone did see, have a hit and run on my record. The girl called me back and wass stoked on the fact that i left a note, She was just hit by a drunk driver the week previous, So this was a rental car!!! And that she had insurance on it and since it only put a small scratch in the bumper she said not to worrie about it, and hopes that the dealer will fix my truck.
So i contacted Toyotas Corporate hotline, and filed my case of brake failure, they said it would be 2 days before a case manager could contact me and get my case going. But they never called..... So finally on day 4 I called them and insisted on speaking to someone to file my case. I finally got through and they told me that it was being processed but i cant have a rental car until toyota admits liability.. So she said that a regional manager would be contacting me within 3-4 days. It only took them 2 days which was a surprize. But informed me that now they have to have one of there inspectors make an appt. to see the truck. But the inspector has 60day to make the appt. with me, then after that he send his findings to Toyotas Lawyers, who have another 30day to respond on there conclusion...... And until Toyota claims Liability i dont get any compinsation. meaning no rental car, and i have to continue to pay for this truck i cant drive. This last week was hard enough trying to get to work(so i can pay for this damn truck) and school. i Dont know how i i am supposed to go another couple weeks with nothing.
Anyone have some advice? or info on the brakes?

Shouldn't this still be under warranty?

Wow, what a ride! I didn't find any technical service bulletins concerning the brake system. The only advice I can give is be persistent. Don't let them keep putting you off. It sounds to me like it might be an uphill battle, but keep at it.
I know a little German... he's sitting over there.

thats what i thought... But i cant even take my truck to a dealer to have it fixed, because corporate has to have there inspector look at it first or they will drop my case. But since i got in an accedent the dealer has to listen to the corporate lawyer BS!

Lame situation. Do you:
A- Wait for their schedule to get to you?
B- Spend time everyday bothering them?
C- Spend $ on a lawyer to get their attention?
Please let us know how they handle this. I am very interested. Unfortunately, I would have to say that a lawyer may be the quickest reponse for your situation, but that gets expensive.
Good luck.

File your complaint here:

Also look around here:

Might as well let them know you have filed the complaint, perhaps it will make them move a little faster. You would think they would move quicker to keep people from filing. After looking real quick, it looks like no filed complaints YET, but that does not mean there isn't a problem....good luck with this, bet that was pretty frightening deal.
