i have a really cool Larry Ragland story. When I was in 7th grade we had to do a report on a person we admired. I did mine on Larry Ragland.
i had to do an interview with the report and with the help of a friend who helped larry when he was racing the 7 truck, i got his phone number. i left a message explaining what i was doing.

a few days later my dad picks up the phone, starts talking, walks over to me and says "hey it for you, it's larry ragland!"
Larry Ragland, Score Champion, Trophy truck driver, called a 7th grader back for an over the phone interview. that was awesome!!!

THATS COOL!! I remember the first time Ivan Stewart called my house looking for a t-shirt design before I even had a buisness and I hung up on him thinking it was a buddy of mine. CLASSIC!

I ran into Larry at the Thunderboat Race at Mission Bay the week before last and talked for awhile. Among other things, I was able to tell him that he was one of my three favorite drivers. He was graciously appreciative and we talked about his unique cornering style and reasons for it. Nice guy, great driver!
