Terrible’s Cup a Points Race?

I think it’s a great idea! I proposed the following to Sal……

Score to be a 6 race series just for the selected classes that are invited to Terrible’s Cup. Only 5 of the 6 races will count towards the championship. In other words, there will be one throw out race with the Terrible’s Cup being worth the least amount of points.

This will leave the option open for someone who DNFs at Laughlin, San Felipe or the 500 to go to Terrible’s and pick up some points. Also racers may want to hedge their bet that a DNF may come at the Primm 300 or the BK1.

All these available options will definitely create more entries at Terrible’s Cup and that is the goal, besides adding a new and interesting twist to the points.

I think It would make for some great racing down the stretch, would give teams another chance to get back into the points race. I could see the points race real tight going into the 1000.

But then it would hurt the teams that have been consistent, have won, or have been on the podium those 3 races. I'm sure they would'nt like it. Would you?

How about those guys that race only the Baja 250 and 500 (big points), win those two, after skipping Laughlin. Then of course they race the Terribles Cup and do well in that race as well as PRIMM, and the 1000. I think there would be some controversy.

There will definetly be some good racing at the TERRIBLES CUP next year if this goes through.

Terrible’s Cup is aptly named, it is terrible, and shouldn’t be a points race. We race desert vehicles not short course vehicles.

You can all come down and race the McMillin 500 or the Mexicana Logistics 300 and have Sal tally the point for SCORE racers... I know CODE would love to have all you guys down here racing, and the fan down here would be extatic.

it would need to be an official SCORE race in order to get point "credit" for SCORE, but I see where you are coming from. I think a SCORE Baja 300 would be awesome!

Hell it could actually be a TECATE CODE SCORE ML 300... this is the race that was held last weekend, its title sponsor is Gus Vildosola's company Mexicana Logistics... now that would be fun...

(Damn now I know I'm going to get a call from the CODE guys telling me to stop saying these things hahaha)
