Glamis Re-Opening
LA TIMES Section B--- March 28th 2002
U.S. Seeks to Reopen Area to Off-roaders
Plan would overturn Clinton decision that curbed use of Sand Dunes
BLM declined to talk about the new plan in detail, they just said it would limit offroad vehicles access of thousands of acres. The proposal will be announced today or friday. Roy Denner of Lakeside who sits on the panel to advise the BLM on desert issues said the proposal will re-open 15,000 acres to vehicles with no-limitations, and another chunk of land which is as much as 35,000 acres could be opened with strict limits on the number of riders each day probably 500...... The announcement is now open for comments from the public for 90-days.... The word of this has enraged the eco-nazi's who thought their campaign to control Dust, Pollution, and preserve sensitive plants and animals was won, but now the word has caused the eco-nazi's and the BLM to file more ( you guessed it) lawsuits.... Keep your finger crossed...

Re: Glamis Re-Opening
My take on it.....Limitations to 500 Riders a day isn't going to do any good especially Thankgiving Weekend when there's as much as 200,000 people there.....soooo Houston we have a Problem....
