ground to frame or engine block?
I'm relocating my battery to the rear of my Explorer. Should I run a cable from the NEG battery post to the frame or should I run the cable to the engine block? Or does it even matter? I heard somewhere to run it to the engine and then run one off of that to the frame. What's the difference? or is there a difference?

Re: ground to frame or engine block?
depends on if your engine is isolated by rubber factory motormounts or not. If it is isolated ground to the block, if you have solid motor moounts I think you can ground anywhere on the frame.

I would run a ground to the chassis from the battery, then a ground from the motor to the chassis. The bigger the wire, the better.

As far as I know, it still has the factory motor mounts. The original cable went from the batt to the engine and had a smaller one running off of that one to the frame. What's the worst case senario if I ran it to the frame and not the engine, or the engine and not the frame?

To be safe do like sand king said, run a ground to the frame and then one from the frame to the block. The heavier the wire the better, and make sure you have a good connection at all points.
