    help figureing out front a arms

    hi everyone. newbie here and i want to build a set of a arms but have no idea where to start or where to find out info on how to design a front suspension so does anyone have any info on where to get books or a thread on here i havent found.

    I think you are getting no answers because its such a huge question. It costs people a lot of time and money to gain the knowledge you want! Get this book, "advanced race car suspension" by Steve Smith, here on ebay:

    That will give you a good understanding of the basic terms and concepts. As for off road specific stuff, there are a million different opinions, from that abomination Dump linked you to, to very successful designs by the big time shops. I learned a lot by reading that book and going to races and talking to people in the pits. Plus you could watch the classifieds for used or unfinished parts and trucks. I found an unfinished project truck for cheap that advanced my knowledge a lot.

    1. learn to weld
    2. look at tons of pics of trucks
    3. design something
    from there, i dont know. im still on step 1

    ok just bought the book. im not looking for someone to say ok do this this this and its perfect im just looking where to get the info on how to figure out how long to make the uppers lowers which spindles to use etc ill see what the book says and go from there though thanks!

    What are the arms for? Just curious.
