    ebay radiator purchase

i have been searching ebay recently and have seen many radiators that I have thought about bidding on. some say nextel cup radiator some say brand new some are brands I have not heard of but the text in the add say they are what the nascar guys are using. i wont spend more then $150.00 on something like this and if they are what they say its better then buying one from ron davis or pwr for $500 plus is it wortht he risk? opinions wanted.

    thanks
    Gregg

    Re: ebay radiator purchase

I bought my radiator off ebay and it was a good one. It was brand new and an Afco N series aluminum radiator. You can look on Afco Racing's website and find it too, I think Ebay was a little cheaper.

I have heard both positive and negative comments on radiators bought off ebay, the only thing I would suggest is to shop around before deciding.

    A couple e-bay heads up.

There seems to be allot of user I.D. highjacking on e-bay lately too.

Anything with any value I bid on anymore I send a message to the seller first just to make sure they are really selling it and not some scammer.

If the seller replies then you know it's really them selling it at least.

Another big scam is you bid and lose and then get a official looking second chance offer from e-bay offering to sell it at your bid because the sale fell through.

Check your messages on e-bays site and if the offer isn't there it is a scam.
They almost got me on that one.

Still lots of deals on e-bay but it is becoming a dangerous place if you don't watch your self.

First, you really need to know what you need for your application, horsepower you have and the size you need. Forget about NASCAR, Ron Davis, etc. It means nothing. I would not buy anything used in this department. Its not worth it. Get what you need and want. I looked at Ron Davis and all the other ones. Names are just names. You need to spend the time learning about radiators and how they are all manufactured. If it makes you feel any better or gives you any comfort...............I bought my new radiator from a company selling them on EBAY!! YEP! And I have a 650hp v8 stroker motor I run in my class 8 that I ran in the last Baja 1000, 500 and a few others. Got the exact size I wanted, with the inlet and outlet where I wanted it, dual pass, shroud with the two fans, etc. for around $400. No problems. Good luck.

Well I got my radiator from ebay today and couldnt be happier. Got it from a seller, A-1 performance, it is exactly what they said brand new. I would reccomend looking at any of their stuff.
