    tacoma roof rack

I have an extra cab tacoma, i was wondering if anyone makes jeep style roof racks. Im refering to the ones where you can store coolers, tires, and mount some lights to the front. I also i want one that can be easily removable and does not require drilling into the actual roof or body for installation. thanks

Yakama has all types of racks, I have one for my truck and although it does not permenantly attach I have never had it bounce loose or off.

    Re: tacoma roof rack

I did a very mild chase for the Baja 1000 a few years ago w/ two spare Baja ATs strapped on the roof of my Ranger w/ a set of Yakima racks... no problems, tho we didn't rack up too much mileage on gnarly terrain.

Thule's are just as good, in my experience.

Just don't load it too high...

My first trip to Baja, coming down the pass into Santa Rosalia I had a pair of surfboards and a surf kayak on top of the Ranger on the same racks, a semi was coming up road into the pass so fast and so close to my side of the highway (my cousin was riding co-dog and squeeling that our passenger tires were on the white line) it was like a bomb went off... blew the back rack clean off the top of the ranger and the front rack all the way to where the front/rear doors met up at the lock.
