Re: Factory FORD racing E-4OD
I dont know about the old e4od's, but I would be leary of it.
I have been in the shop when they have fired up the truck with the 5 spd and the 6 speed in it and the trans has fried before it even left the shop. Either the oil temp would shot sky high after 10 minutes of running on the jacks or it just wouldnt shift.
The worst part of the hole deal was that the last trans that thay would have had in the truck would go thought the entire 500 or b1k and not give a lick of trouble. Then the guys in Dearborn would have to screw with a working formula and trans would fry at the next race at mile 15.
So much for free engines and transmissions.

Although not necessarily Ford's fault, at least one of those big name Ford backed teams had problems for a long time with their transmissions, repeated DNF's.
The OEM's are not known for building race ready tansmissions.
