I for one would love to see it back, I loved it as a kid and would love it now. Especially since thats where I would race. Robby Gordon mentioned in a dirtnewz interview at terribles cup that, he would like to see short course racing back in the stadiums. And he would be interested in making it happen when he is done with nascar. So if anyone wants to take it on before RG, All they need is a lot of money and a dream. Maybe the factories would get back involved.

The answer to you question is NO... Know one wants it. And know one cares. And its sad too.
A friend of mine and many here, tried it a year or two ago at the Orange Show in San Bernardino and NO ONE SHOWED! The crowd pull was about 25% to a 33% of what he hoped. After it was all done he lost about $10K in one night. And he didnt have the $10k to lose and shrug off.
In hindsight if he was Micky T., he could have made it work but know one alive today is like M.T.

I would be more for the recent "Glen Helen" type of event, it was great 3 mile race course for spectators and overnight camping. Throw in a couple good live bands and major party fun for the whole family !

Please don't take offense to this, but could the lack of butt in seats have been due to poor marketing? I would think that there are enough gearheads in and around the OC/909 area to fill a small venue like that..

I agree, this sounds like a good idea. Hopefully next year they build some sweet jumps.

I am sure you are right! The issue is that you can never get you marking money back. I dont know what it would cost to get the word of a coming race in front of every race fan in So Cal, but it would be hunderds of thousands and maybe millions. And you cant get a return out of one race to pay for it. If some one was to do it they would need DEEP pockets, like the Herbts. And then stick with it for 5 years following the supercross circut like the monster trucks do and have about 10 races.
Plus, the winner would need to make about $15k or $20k for winning and the last place finish gets about $3k just for making the main wether or not they finish. Now if someone did that it might take off. The bummer is that I cant imagine a permoter that would have a $100k for each races purse. Think about it if the first race season was a flop and permoter couldnt find a titel sponser for the purse it would be a million bucks out of pocket for the first year! And thats not the cost of any thing else, the bottom line is that it would take about 5 to 10 mil to put it one for one seson to see if it would even work.
