Will Robby make you rich?
For anyone interested, it's possible to place bets on this year's Dakar rally.
I have only found one place though, visit bwin.com. Chose motorsport in the menu to the left.
I hope it's ok that I post this link, if not I will remove it. Moderators?
Anyways, Robby is not one of the favourites and pays 40 times your money. Mark Miller pays 20 and Stephane Peterhansel is considered most likely to win and only pays 2.60 times your money.
For the motorcycles, Chris Blais pays 20 times.
I placed my bets on Robby, I think he can surprise the europeans this year and on Ari Vatanen, he's old in the game and will drive smart.
Last year when the race had started it was also possible to play on the stages, don't know about this year.
Remember to play responsibly and don't bet to much.

Re: Will Robby make you rich?
I find it interesting that Sainz is ranked above de-Villiers and Vatanen. I would rank de-Villiers on top of the VW group just because he and Dirk seem to be on a roll and they have more seat time in the car than Vatanen. I would rank Vatanen above Sainz just on experience alone. I also think Masuoka is ranked too high. I think the ranking of the "independents" is about right with Schlesser, Sousa & Kelinschmidt.
Robby won't make me rich, but El Oasis Orphanage will benefit from Fly's check again!

From Bwin:
What will Robby Gordon (USA/Hummer) final placement be?
1 - 20 5.50
21 - 30 8.00
31 - 40 8.00
41 or worse 5.00
Not listed in the final classification 1.50
Ouch.

It must be some sort of legal reason. I did not know about that.
If you want to place a bet anyway, maybe I can help you?

I believe I recently heard that the Justice Department was cracking down on offshore gambling involving US citizens. It's been illegal for quite awhile.
