    Painting Fiberglass Questions/So.Az. question

I am going get my fiberglass fenders painted. I was curious if there is anything I need to tell the people who are painting it that is unique to fiberglass?(different paint, treatment?) Is there anything that I should do to the fenders so that they will look good or to save myself a few bucks?(should I sand them smooth or let them do it?)
And for any So. Az. people, I am in Tucson but Phoenix would be cool too, are there any places that anyone can recommend that are good or at least cheap!? Tim, thanks in advance!

IF they do not know how to prep and paint fiberglass I would suggest taking it elsewhere. Any compotent body shop should have no problems doing a good job.

    Re: Painting Fiberglass Questions/So.Az. question

They should be able to color match in house, if not, they will more than likely feather the the doors and the hood. This way the average person will not be able to tell the truck has two different colors on it.

    Re: Painting Fiberglass Questions/So.Az. question

A reputable shop should blend the paint into the doors and hood no matter what, if you don't no matter how new the paint on the truck is it wont really match, unless you are talking about a white truck.

You may want to try EURO-TEK in N. Phoenix. Check with them, they are a disco drop shop however they do, do good work. Send me a PM and I may be able to get you a discount there also.

    Re: Painting Fiberglass Questions/So.Az. question

Very true Chris, however, white can be hard to color match. Even white has its various shades. Some bright, other pearl or opaque. Some dirty depending on how you drive. Some makers add pigment of another hue just to make there's original.
