San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
It's that time again...
I had a note to call several hotels in Felipe and when I did this am... they were already sold out from Jan.1st !!!
So, instead of driving down the RV... I'll see if anyone has a reservation or extra room that they mistakenly made or won't need. I'm a bit early, but 'early bird gets the worm' I always say.
So if you have something ... you can send me email directly if you'd like, it's the best way for me. [email protected]
THANKS, and Happy New Year to you all!
Shall we keep this as the "official" San Felipe 250 Room Thread?!

A few days ago there were still some homes for rent during the race at El Dorado Ranch. 877-787-2624. http://www.eldoradoranch.com/Vacatio...tals_Homes.htm

Re: San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
most of the places begin taking reservations on 1/1 at 12 am. this year a few freinds called at 12:01 am and the places were full. It seems that the places are not honoring the reservation systems of 1/1 at 12am as the first you can reserve a place. Good to know for next year!

Re: San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
I reserved 3 rooms through the el dorado ranch 2 months ago for the 250. So i do not know what this 1/1 date is I dont think thats accurate. withthe popularity of this sport you need to reserve rooms way early so you dont get screwed. I even ask if I can reserve a room for the following years race when i check in for that race. At the 500 this year when I asked the hotel was already booked

Re: San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
Getting rooms in mexico is really becoming a problem. The growth of the sport is awesome, but some of these little towns only have soo much room. We usually try to make our reservations in person at the 1000. Well anyway good luck finding rooms.

The date of 1/1 is accurate to most hotels... and only allowing reservations for 2007 starting on 1/1/07. If you were to ask to reserve a room in '06 mid season, they'd say "no, call back on the 1st to reserve". Which most of us did... and by then, they were sold out.
SOOO... it's obvious that someone (usually the one with most cash in hand, at the front counter) is able to reserve and do this prior to 1/1 at such hotels.
El Dorado is rental homes/condos and not a hotel. A bit different in how the process works in Felipe.
... Take the Marina for example, one year they un-reserved my reservations and many others because a higher bidder came in and bought all the rooms. A large race team (that I'll with hold), that I still hold accountable to this date.
I'm still looking, and will update when I've found something.

Re: San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
Actully through the el dorado ranch I reserved 3 rooms at the red lobster hotel. hopefully its still valid as I paid for it already months ago. we dealt withthem last year as well because they are based in colorado and its less likely to get sold out from under us. now im scurred I have everythign in front of me right now but since I did not reserve the rooms through the actual hotel i wonder if I still have reservations.

Re: San Felipe 250 - ROOM(S) needed...
If I'm not mistaken, all of El Dorado's reservations are handled through their office in Colorado (they were closed during that big snow storm that closed the Denver airport so I lost getting one house I wanted to rent). AND they take 100% of the rental fee from your credit card at the time you make the reservation. No 50% now and 50% later for those boys. So if they don't honor the reservation, they might be in big trouble.

You should be fine. I stayed there at the 1000 and reserved the same way. They were sold out when I tried to get rooms last month for the 250
