Just spoke with Casey and got my location for the race - Mineral Wash Pit 4, which was Pit 3 last year... This is the only pit on the course where you stay for the entire race - just like last year - no one is allowed to leave until the pit is closed (somewhere around 11 pm ish)... As per Casey, this will be STRICTLY ENFORCED - NO ONE LEAVES PERIOD .. If you decide you aren't going to stay either because your car is finished or broken, you will put your team in jeopardy of a penality and will also be met by the BLM Ranger (da law) at Shea Road, who won't be happy to see you and most definitely won't greet you with a smile like I do ... There will be cones set up outlining the pit parking area so please keep within those boundaries - I really, really don't like asking you to move, but I will (there's always someone who has to test the waters lol ) ... and, PLEASE, no pitting next to the course anywhere ...

So, for all you lucky pit crews assigned to hang out with me for 18 hours or so, bring the bbq's, horseshoes, cold drinks, golf balls, dvds or ?? to keep yourselves occupied out there... Firewood is also a great thing - no lathe burning this trip lol... Thanks everyone who was out there with me last year and can't wait til this year !!
