Is this job pretty much a bolt in or?
Im thinking about replacing the 2wd front suspenion in an 86 ext. cab ranger with a dana 35 out of a 93 explorer. Does this just bolt in pretty easy or does it take alot of work and money? by the way I will be getting the 8.8 rearend too, so gearing wont be a problem.

The 2wd Rangers and 4wd Explorer use different frames. You would have to swap the engine crossmember. It's huge pain in the....

Re: Is this job pretty much a bolt in or?
Thanks for your reply, Let me tell you my whole plan. I've got the whole drive train to a 93 explorer -engine, electrical harness, tran, tranfercase, rearend, dana 35 frontend. Wondering why I did'nt go with the explorer- I need a truck and the 86 ranger is just getting vary ooold. I first thought I'd go with the one ton van beams and make it a prerunner. But after some thought i figured i'd make it a 4x4 if it did'nt take much to convert it, because it would be alot less fabracating parts ie.(roll cage, pivits for the beams, shock hoops, bla-bla-bla....)
Is it just a matter of cutting out the rivits and swapping the crossmenbers while the engine is out or is it worse?
