Lt Chevy Front End
well i just convinced the wife to let me pick up a 88 chevy xcab 1500 p/u, this is going to be my long term project vehicle, i would like to get as much travel as possible front and rear, for now my question is on the front, am i better off buying a pre-made kit or having a custom one done? how much travel can i expect from a kit (giant etc), the ones i have seen only advertise about 15.5", i would like more if i can get it. what are the better kits available if that is the smart way to do it, i am new to this so any help is appreciated. like i said this is my long term project, i am in no hurry as i want to learn as i go, but don't want to make the expensive mistakes. thanks in advance

Re: Lt Chevy Front End
Custom one off front ends with shocks, streering, hubs and brakes, done, over end of story cost about 30k. Thats right. $30,000.00 And the rear is just as bad. But it would be good class 8 race quality stuff.
Stick to giant, cst, or any of the other prodution designs kits that are on the high end.

FWIW: My friend runs the same kit as above, never had any trouble with it that I know of. But it only gets taken to the sand dunes.
