Walker Evans
So I read a while ago that Walker isn't rock crawling this year. He has retired from offroad motorsports. With the recent videos and photos from back in the day, I was talking about it with a friend and we were sharing some Walker experiences.
I have a poster that Walker signed for me hanging in my sons room. That day Walker took some extra time out of his day to check out my 7s. He had that grin on his face and took a good long look and said, "Well, that looks like a lot of fun!" I will always remember that smile and the fact he was genuinely interested in looking at my truck.
I loved seeing those Dodges fly across the desert. I saw him crawl once but I'm not really a rock crawling fan. It is awesome when you meet a hero of a sport, when they are a nice guy the meeting is even better. Now if I could afford a few sets of his wheels...

A true off-road legend. His driving skill was up there with the very best, but his nerve and level headedness was even greater.

Re: Walker Evans
my first "true" ride in off road vehical was with Walker he was and is one of my all time favorite drivers. i got to ride with him at glen helen when my grandfather was putting on a short course race there, it was 1983 i was 9 years old couldn't see the ground only when we were facing it landing from a jump.(i think i told as many people as i could tell for atleast a year.) i always go out of my way to see walker whenever i can. he has always been good to me always brings up memories and stories. he is truly one of the best people i have met in this sport. i do have a bunch of video of walker from over the years from him driving a ford and a chevy to all the dodges and a chevy again.

Re: Walker Evans
I met Mr. Evans a couple times when I was reallllyy young. Too young to appreciate what he had done for the sport of off road and motorsports as a whole. But, I have a little poster of his Nascar Truck autographed by the man himself hanging on my wall right in front of me

Re: Walker Evans
One of my favorite stories that Kreg Donahoe told was Walker showing him how to drive his newly acquired trophy truck from the Evans stable. The pucker factor Kreg described has to be insane. I hope to get a ride in one some day.
(I also have my poster signed by Walker that Kreg got for me since I couldn't make it to SEMA. I'll always hold on to that one)

There is not much the man can not do good....driving and story telling are just two of his talents
