There is nearly endless information on these topics in books and on the web. If you have something specific that applies to dezert racing, someone here may be able to help you.

Re: Roll Center, Instant Center, Line of Force

Not sure if this is specific enough, but does the longitudinal location of the IC make much difference for weight transfer, or anything else really, or is the A/S more the defining factor?

Regardless of how much reading I do, I've never really seen the significance of how far forward the Instant Center is, so much as the height of it.

On that note, if you go just beyond parallel (upper and lower, from the side) links, your IC ends up behind your truck. What is the real world effect in doing this? How do you calculate Antisquat then?

you mean like a reverse four link?

    it would be terrible
when you hit the brakes the rear end would shoot up in the air and you get bad wheel hop and rollsteer
but thats only if all of your link bars are reversed
    huck it!

    captain obvious.

    ALL suspensions have roll steer
but reverse four links have soooo much more than if the bars were ran forward.
i cant remember the name of the setup
but i saw a single cab fullsize 88-98 chevy with the bottom bars reversed and top bars were forward.. it isnt a reverse setup ....but it was setup right and it still looked funny and the *** end was way up in the air durring braking

i was stating that reverse setups wont workkk
    huck it!

It is not uncommon or difficult for double wishbone or strut suspensions to have no roll steer.

You better let Jeep, Dodge, and the others know that reverse 4-links don't work.

Dodge and Jeep and Ford Superdutys all have a reverse four link setup in the front. Alot of the rock crawlers have it up front as well. It simply means that the links are attached to the frame at the rear of the axle that they control. TTBs and the old Broncos (anything with "trailing" arms)are also reverse link set-up, two links not four in their case.
