My friend rolled his truck lastnight!
Poor Scotty is 17, a senior in HS and just got his newer '04 tacoma about 6 months ago. Surprisingly the accident was after a bunch of off roading and not during. Four other friends and I went off roading: Nate, Gregg and I were in Nate's green Cherokee and 'lil Scotty and lil Andrew were in Scotts Tacoma.
Long story short, Nathan hit the brakes to make a turn and Scott did the same in the same direction and side swiped all of Nate's Jeep shattering the back window and crunching in the side of the Jeep, but we looked over to see Scotty's truck do some Dukes of Hazzard stunt off a telephone box, fly through the air and roll once, landing on the roof.
We got out and ran over to screaming and chaos but in the end everyone walked away.
I always hear about truck rollovers in the desert by crazy guys doing crazy stuff while drunk, I never thought that it could happen to one of my younger friends just on a plain street.
Scotty, sorry bout your truck meng, but being alright is about the best we can ask for at this point.
I think it opened up all of our eyes to driving though :-..
these are just cell phone pics so bear with me.

Oh yeah, this whole thing was purely an accident, but one of the officers at the scene had the gall to walk up to Scotty's parents in the back of the ambulance (they were putting a bandaid on his elbow) and he said "You know, this is the epitomy of irresponsible teenagers". He said that to Scotty's parents who were obviously shaken up about the whole thing and when us guys heard that the officer said that it really pissed us off.

Dude, this police officer really wasn't helping the situation though... all in all what he said just pissed us off at the time. Also, scotty's a broke (soon to be broker) high schooler who has no money for roll cages. Lemme tell you though, this reeealy makes me want to put a cage and harnesses in my tacoma truck identical to his (well, identical plus LT in the front and rear, etc.)

Yeah, i'm broke too. But my mom has seen to many kids die like this and she doesn't want me to meet the same fate. Especially since a family friend rolled 60ft into a creek. She is gonig to help pay for the cage, harness, fuel cell, etc to make it safe. I gotta pay for the truck and the other non-safety related stuff.

In life you have to learn to stop sweating the petty things and instead start petting the sweaty things.
