Nice little Sheriff ride............
The One and Only "Az Bajaman 1970"...
i wounder how i could get that job... drive a long travel all damn day long.. hmmm
Seriously....I wonder what the necessary qualifications for that are and if the driver has any race experience...
The BLM has a Subaru powered Funco sand car. That goes around the boundaries of Glamis and Ocotillo Wells. I have pics somewhere around here.....
I'll move it myself before the forum nazis move it for me...
i remember seeing a thread on this one here already. I believe it's the one where prez bush visits yuma and gets a ride in one of these. there should be a closeup of it.
Cesar
I seem to remember seeing one that had the passenger side open so they could transport somebody on a backboard.....wonder if it's the same one, or similar.
The San Diego Sheriff's Dept. has a buggy with the attachments for a backboard. I believe it's built on a Chenoweth frame. The buggy is part of the Off Road Enforcement Team and is used out at Glamis and Ocotillo. A few reserve deputies came up with the idea when they responded to vehicle and riding accidents and had no vehicles suitable for reaching the injured persons. They applied for and received a Federal grant to get the vehicle built.
As far as getting a job driving this, become a Sheriff Reserve Deputy (No pay) and take the state mandated training course.
