BITD 7200 Engine Rule Question?
I was interested in building a truck for the 7200 BITD Class (mini TT
). I looked at the rules and nothing seems to mention a limit on displacement for the 6 cylinder, and nothing states if it has to be a V6. I would guess that even if there is not currently a displacement limitation, there will be at some time, where will that limit be?? I would say somewhere around a 5 liter limitation would be good, eventually someone will build some monster displacement with 39" tires and run for the overall...
I was interested in using an inline 6, but did not want to commit to an engine before making sure.

Re: BITD 7200 Engine Rule Question?
I answered my own question by calling BITD
Yes you can run an inline 6 cylinder, and nobody has yet asked for a displacement limitation, so the 6 PACK 1000 cubic inch mountain motor is in the works

Re: BITD 7200 Engine Rule Question?
I would bet a 4.5 busch motor is as big a motor necessary for an OA in the mini TT class or the motor out of lil mac before it was destroked.

Re: BITD 7200 Engine Rule Question?
According to Cory Weyer, Ford has the new 4v head out in their v6 and with no displacement limit this motor could see 5 plus liters and over 600 HP. Get ready for some SERIOUS contentions for the OA in the BiTD 7200 class!

Heads for which block? I know you can get 318 C.I. and WAY over 600 hp out of the 4.5L SVO Busch engines now. A set of 4V heads would be interesting depending on what block they match to. I have not heard any valve, cam or displacement rules for the class, so it could get wild in a hurry.
It's already possible to have similar HP/LB ratio of the trophy trucks in the class, so opening up the rules to allow 125" wb, 85" width, NO frame rails, and free-willy motor placement should make them better by a ton once some guys get them sorted out. Roeseler got 11th overall at parker last year in a framed 7200 truck. How long 'til someone overalls with the new Mini Trick Truck specs?
