Looking For Drivers/co-drivers For The 1000
We're looking for 4 or 5 people to share the cost and the driving for the 2007 Baja 1000. The race vehicle is a Nissan truck originally built for the short course Nissan Cup Series, but it's been updated to SCORE 7S. I've run it in two 1000's so far, plus some other events. Basically, I provide the race truck, pay for the entry fee, fuel and pit support, and provide chase vehicles and two mechanics. Each driver will do his or her own prerunning and arrange their own travel. I'm still working on the fee each driver will need to pay. PM me for pics and stats on the truck.

Re: Looking For Drivers/co-drivers For The 1000
finally an arrive and drive deal in off-road. Other than the b/c for stupid money, at their rate you could get a protruck, and run a single event, and KEEP THE TRUCK!!!
protruck or tt?
the race cost is about the same?
fuel +/- $1000
prep- about the same hours.
only difference would be the gamble on carnage? motor/drivetrain damage, right?
How would the insurance/ bond work?
Look at what happened to Travis Pastrana. Off-road, and race cars are designed to take a roll, and not burn to the ground, but as luck would have it, the one roll he took cost him 240k, or so.
This is nothing against Daimens designs, or prep, or anything, that is not the point, the point being that one mishap along the line of build, prep, race, accident...where should the blame fall.
If it is my car I had a hand in building, or had decision making in where the car was prepped, I would take responsibility in the event of a burn down, or major motor failure.
This is been something that has been bugging me for awhile, and maybe the lite has made me see the light, but is it really the "one-time drivers" fault that it burned down.
Yes, he crashed.
What if the car burned because of a bad design, and there was no wreck, say that an AN cutter fitting that was not installed right, would it still be the renters fault, and have to cut a check for $$$k.
This is as grey as grey gets.
I have heard "pay to play" alot, and it gets so complex to account blame in a dollar amount, so what are the thoughts?
