Re: CV grease revisited
We use neo HPCC1 and must say that I am always impressed with it.

Re: CV grease revisited
We use (2) Greases by (1) maker. We mix 1/2 Lucas Green Heavy Duty with 1/2 Lucas Red and Tacky. Lots of mileage without failure and always plenty of grease on the metal surfaces when we re-inspect. I have also used 100% green and 100% red with similar results. I know plenty of people that swear by Neo. I'm not a fan of Swepco but have used it the past.

Re: CV grease revisited
We use Neo500 cv grease. Never had a failure over 4 years, plan of sticking with it.

Re: CV grease revisited
We have had our fair share of cv problems and issues. We are now using Neo and Bel ray mixture. We have been having great results so far (knock on wood). We also had to make some other changes which helped with keeping the grease in the right areas. I know that some teams use the 4 grease mixture but for our cars it did not work due to the back angle our cars have and the other car didnt.the 4 grease mixture seamed too lean for us. Good luck!

Just a general question about something you pointed out...I have noticed that different builders have the axles/cv's at more of a "back angle" like you mentioned. (HMS is what I saw) Sure it is pretty complex and thought out for a reason (tranny placement, trailing arm length) but what are the advantages/disadvantages of more or less back angle? This has to influence cv wear I would think.

We call it "trail". Just remember it's still angle. Doesn't matter if the axle is angled down or back. Angle turns horsepower into heat. Hitting 0 deg. trail at max down would be ideal.

It also cuts down on your plunge a little.

Re: CV grease revisited
You know doug I have some ep pro long its green stuff and its supposed to be good to 600 degree's -We have tested it in a very hard on lube area on a special c/v we make and its the only thing that holds up after a few years- the only bad thing is it turns pretty light on the viscosity with heat-So you have to seal it well-I often wonder is red line diff lube would work also? We have found where our axles hold the heat- Its in the slip-everything has its ups and downs- c/v's hold heat at each end -we will have a heat sink in place on every 1/2 -And will post up results when we start in-Jess
